Sustainability at LEVARE
Better travel should consider more than the journey.
At LEVARE, sustainability is not about making exaggerated claims or pretending that every part of our business is perfect.
It is about making more considered choices wherever we can — from the materials we use and the way we package our products, to how we ship orders and what we do with returned stock.
We are still at the beginning of that journey, but our direction is clear: reduce unnecessary waste, use resources more carefully and keep improving as we grow.
Thoughtful materials
The LEVARE Travel Backpack is made primarily from polyester and Oxford cloth, chosen for their practicality, structure and suitability for everyday travel.
At this stage, we do not claim that the backpack is made from recycled materials, and we would rather be transparent about that than make sustainability claims we cannot properly support.
As LEVARE develops, we intend to explore opportunities to use more recycled or lower-impact materials where they can meet the same standards for performance, appearance and durability.
Packaging with less waste
Packaging should protect the product without creating unnecessary waste.
That is why LEVARE uses a recyclable cardboard box, sized specifically for the backpack rather than using oversized packaging. Inside, the presentation is kept simple with packing paper, a LEVARE sticker and swing tag.
There is no plastic packaging included as part of our standard presentation.
We have deliberately kept the packaging minimal while still making sure it feels considered and premium when it arrives.
For us, good packaging should do three things well:
- protect the product
- create a strong first impression
- avoid using more material than necessary
Designed to be used, not discarded
One of the most practical ways to reduce waste is to create products that customers want to keep using.
LEVARE products are designed around repeat travel, practical organisation and everyday usability rather than short-term trends.
We want our products to remain useful beyond a single trip, whether that means a weekend away, a work journey or regular cabin travel.
Our aim is simple: create products that earn their place in your routine.
Smarter shipping
Orders are packed and dispatched by us in the UK using Royal Mail.
We avoid oversized shipping boxes and use packaging that is closely matched to the size of the backpack. This helps reduce unnecessary packaging material while keeping the product properly protected in transit.
As the business grows, we will continue reviewing the way we pack and ship orders to identify further opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Giving returned products another journey
A returned product should not automatically become waste.
Where a backpack is returned in a condition that allows it to be safely and properly resold, we intend to inspect it carefully and return it to stock rather than dispose of a perfectly usable product.
This helps reduce unnecessary waste while making better use of the resources already used to produce and transport the item.
Products that cannot appropriately be resold will be reviewed individually as we develop our returns and reuse process further.
Responsible sourcing
Our current backpack is manufactured in China.
We are continuing to learn more about our supply chain, including the standards and practices of the manufacturers we work with.
At present, we do not make specific claims about factory labour or environmental certifications because we have not yet independently verified them.
As LEVARE grows, we intend to place greater emphasis on understanding our suppliers, asking better questions and working towards stronger visibility across our supply chain.
Where we want to improve
Sustainability is an ongoing process, not a finished statement.
As LEVARE develops, our priorities include:
- exploring recycled and lower-impact materials
- continuing to eliminate unnecessary plastic packaging
- reducing excess packaging wherever possible
- working with suppliers that can provide clearer environmental information
- improving visibility across our manufacturing and supply chain
- developing better ways to reuse, resell or responsibly manage returned products
- reviewing shipping and fulfilment methods as the business grows
We will not claim progress before it happens.
But we will continue looking for practical ways to make LEVARE more responsible over time.
Progress over perfection
We believe sustainability works best when it is honest, measurable and continually improving.
LEVARE is not claiming to have every answer today.
What we can promise is a more thoughtful approach — less unnecessary packaging, fewer unsupported claims, better use of products and a commitment to making more responsible decisions as the brand grows.
Because better travel should not only be about where you are going.
It should also be about how you get there.
